Promoting academic and clinical interest in the practice and study of medical dermatology and supporting collaboration between dermatologists and other medical specialists with the goal of improving patient care.

About the BSMD

At the 4th annual Medical Dermatology Meeting in 2008, the need for the creation of a specialty group with an interest in the integration of dermatology with general medicine, and the promotion of the role of the dermatologist in hospital medicine was debated. Finding a body of support for the idea, we set about the creation of such a group. BSMD now has a healthy membership, an agreed constitution outlining the aims and objectives and an elected committee. New members are welcome.
